hidden in the quiet of the north cotswolds the hop attic was conceptualised by julia charteris and james honey, initially as an alternative option to the education on offer in the area for their own daughter.

like most good ideas it took form and found its shape organically. step by step almost by accident. when a beautiful local space became available we were inspired to make our HOME-EDUCATING ambitions more organised.

THE HOP ATTIC IS A SPACE WHERE WE ARE FREE TO ORGANISE GROUP SESSIONS AND GATHERINGS IN A SAFE environment AWAY FROM HOME. it is not a school or official space! it is just a wonderful room for children to have fun and learn in.

we now have three days a week of classes and small gatherings. it is ostensibly a space for home educated primary age children but we also run monthly workshops that are open to all including children enrolled at school.

the hop attic is a warm, inclusive and friendly place - all are welcome.
